Luisa Clare is an Australian design label comprised of sisters Luisa and Carla Sanzone. The label has built a reputation both within Australia and internationally by offering quality, unique handcrafted leather handbags that are glamorous, feminine and striking works of art.

The original inspiration for the Luisa Clare concept was in 2001 when the sisters discovered some fabric and leather swatches at an industrial centre in Sydney. The textiles inspired them to create the first line of Luisa Clare handbags and a year later Luisa and Carla were selected to launch their accessories label at the prestigious Australian Fashion Week. The Luisa Clare label has since grown into an exclusive and differentiated, world-ranking Australian fashion brand that is stocked in some of the most interesting boutiques around the world.

With each seasonal collection, Luisa and Carla offer distinction in their designs and techniques whether through the beautiful embellishments lovingly hand-crafted on each bag, the soft natural leathers, or their special designs printed on superior quality materials. In recognition of this quality, uniqueness and originality, the Australian fashion industry awarded the Luisa Clare label as Best Accessory in 2006.  The label has also been chosen to showcase at art galleries and in a book on original handbag designs from around the world: a further testament to their concept of “wearable art” and of their reputation for originality.

In 2006, an online boutique was launched to showcase all of the Luisa Clare products and extensive editorial content from around the world. In July 2007, the first Luisa Clare European Showroom opened in Berlin for European clients and media. This led to an extensive range of Luisa Clare accessories being shown in select European design exhibitions and fashion shows. In 2009, the Luisa Clare label expanded into the United States with a Los Angeles Showroom showcasing designs for American clients.

Luisa Clare continues, each season, to release beautiful collections that are handcrafted from the label’s signature soft leathers and superior finish. While their products are fashionable pieces, each design is an enduring item with intrinsic value and collectible appeal.  Luisa Clare also creates special limited-edition pieces for every collection, offering distinction in design and technique.
